Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds

The Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds Initiative provides fresh fruits and vegetables to children in poverty who are receiving public mental health services.  Children receive a healthy snack at the beginning of their weekly therapy session and families receive regular deliveries of fresh produce to prepare with their children at home.  Research shows that providing a snack during therapy increases children's progress in mental health services, and builds healthy eating habits for a lifetime.

The Children's Justice Project developed this program in consultation with several food justice experts, and CJP Executive Director Pamela Miller serves on the Greater Cincinnati Food Policy Council.  If you are a public mental health provider and would like to learn more, please contact us at info@thechildrensjusticeproject.org
